Tuesday, February 13th We read and discussed the story. Students worked on questions.
On Tuesday 2/6, we started the short ambiguous story "A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings" Below is the story and the questions. I have also posted an audio of the story to make it easy for you to review (or do if you are absent) Very Old Man With Enormous Wings
If you are having a difficult time understanding the story, you can watch this short video.
Students first watched an episode of Helix - this series was written by the same author of "Old Nothing" it is a Sci-Fi - futuristic type of story. As we watched students took the chart (see below) and tried to make big picture connections to the story. The next day we watched an Episode of "Black-ish" (Chop-Chop - season 2 episode 8) to make cultural connections from the story and the show. On Monday, we went to the computer lab to start to write a journal. Prompt is below in the chart. This should be about a page. Students need to come to class with a printed out rough draft on Wednesday. It needs to be complete for full credit. Students will have time to edit the draft some time this week and the final journal needs to be turned in on Monday, February 12th.
